Meeting this Sunday 10.14!

Howdy Partners!

Hard to believe it’s that time again, but here we are fast approaching our next meeting. It will be held this Sunday, at 3pm, at Shadetree.

Shadetree is the name of the property owned by Mark Phillips that some of our members will be living and farming on this coming season. At the moment it is a blank canvas, and we are excited to share with you our visions and hopes for the future of that property.

From 3-4pm we will be touring the land, beers in hand, catching up and hanging out. Hooray!
At 4pm a potluck dinner will be served, so as always please bring a dish to share.
(If you are only able to stay for the “social hour”, 3-4:30ish, that’s OK! We know not everyone is into meetings, or maybe you just don’t have that much time to spare.)

At 4:30pm our meeting will officially begin. We have a LOT of exciting things to go over. We have really hit the ground running! Most importantly we will be discussing the draft of our by-laws that were developed at our previous meeting, and hopefully passing a revised version that we can all be happy with. These by-laws will give our organization a structure as well as a working decision-making model. This is real democracy in action folks! We need you to come and participate!

Here are directions to Shadetree:

The Address is: 4805 river grove dr.
paso robles, ca., 93446

Directions: go east on hwy 46 from Paso Robles about 12 miles.

soon after cresting a hill and beginning to descend you will cross a new (and huge) bridge.
take the first right (no signage at the moment) after crossing the bridge.
pass through the first intersection and go to the stop sign at river grove drive.
turn right and go back across the Estrella river over the 100 year old bridge.
the gate is the first one on the right about 200 feet after crossing this bridge.

Keep calm and farm on,

Melissa

One Response to Meeting this Sunday 10.14!

  1. Diana says:

    Hi Vanessa and everyone;
Thanks to Vanessa for being a bright spot at Paso’s North Co. Farmers Mkt, where I met her.
In getting to know V she told me about this organization and website. While reading it I realized I’d also met and had pleasant visits with Eric and Heather and Kacie at Windrose Farm’s Tomato Tasting this August. I may also have met Melissa at Windrose.

Who am I? A local consumer and Paso Robles resident who has slowly been waking up to the wondrous world of Real Food. So I guess I am the voice of others like me, who have a passion for buying, preparing, cooking, serving and eating the healthier locally grown produce made available at our North County Farmers Markets and other enlightened venues. My family has benefited from my interests in this in every way, so much so that I have made it my current mission to meet and get to know other Real Food Enthusiasts in my area, network with them, and support all who have the similar hopes and dreams of knitting together a vibrant community committed to and centered around eating real food!

Please put me on your mailing list, include me in your public events, and last but not least, save me one of your new calendars showing “your sexy-farmer” selves, mentioned in your 9/20/12 Blog.

    Thanks and Warm Wishes,
    Diana
